Join our Volunteer Team!
At T.H.E. Center, volunteers are the heart of everything we do. As a fully volunteer-run nonprofit, every program, event, and moment of connection at the ranch is made possible by people who care deeply about our animals and our community.
We are especially proud that our volunteer team reflects the heart of our mission — made up of children, teens, adults, seniors, and everyone in between. It truly is a place where generations come together, united by compassion, service, and a shared love for animals. This intergenerational spirit strengthens our ranch and builds a stronger community for all.
Volunteering with us looks a little different for everyone. Whether you’re helping care for our therapy horses, supporting unmounted equine lessons, assisting at community events like Coffee with Horses, or lending your creative, organizational, or behind-the-scenes skills, there’s a place for you here. No prior horse experience is required — we provide all training. All we ask is a kind heart, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a supportive team. Our volunteers help create safe, welcoming spaces where individuals of all abilities can connect with animals, slow down, and feel a sense of belonging. In return, we offer meaningful experiences, hands-on learning, and the joy of being part of something that truly makes a difference.

Steps to Becoming a T.H.E. Center Volunteer
1. Attend a Volunteer Orientation
We typically hold at least one orientation per month. Orientation is mandatory for all new volunteers and for returning volunteers who have been away for more than one year. This approximately 45-minute introduction includes:
-
Ranch rules and safety guidelines
-
Overview of our programs
-
Available volunteer roles
-
A guided tour of the ranch
-
Meet-and-greet with our horses
2. Create Your Volunteer Profile
After orientation, all volunteers complete a profile through our volunteer website. This allows you to:
-
Track required trainings
-
Log volunteer hours
-
Sign up for shifts and opportunities
Access to the volunteer website is provided during orientation.
3. Stay Connected
Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see when the next orientation is scheduled or email us to be added to our notification list.
